Keeping Your Pup Cool This Summer

During the summer, the sun comes out, and the temperatures rise tremendously. Here are some ways to cool your dog down, and lessen the risk of heat stroke.

1. Freeze a water bottle in a sock. This is a fun DIY that dogs go crazy for. Not only will your pup have a brand new chew toy that smells like socks, but they will also be cooled down by the ice. This takes only about 3 hours with the freezing process, and will last for at least 30 minutes to an hour.

2. Use a hair thinning brush like the Furminator to remove excess hair. When you remove all of the excess, loose hair out of your dog's coat, they will be cooler and lighter. The great thing about brushes like the Furminator is that your dog will still have beautiful fur with no patches.

3. Give your dogs plenty of water. All the time, especially in the summer, your dogs should have a supply of water (NOT the Toilet). When your dogs drink water, they will stay hydrated that will cool them off little by little.

I hope these tips will help your furry little friend stay cool this summer! Come back soon for more Tips and Tricks.
