Budgeting For Your Dog

Dogs can be pretty expensive. Here are some great tips to save money on your dog!

1. Make your own dog food.
Making your own dog food could not only save you money, but also help you to avoid any harmful ingredients in packaged dog food. Although this can take a little bit of time out of your week, it will be helpful overall. I would recommend making your food for the week, then serving it as needed. There are many dog food recipes out there that you can try!

2. Buying dog products online.
Buying your dog supplies online is A LOT less expensive than buying your supplies in chain pet stores. As I have mentioned before on this blog, I love two placed in particular. Jefferspet.com and Chewy.com are my go-to online shops for pet products. They have a huge assortment, for a small price. (I am not sponsored or affiliated with any of these companies).

These are two ideas to help you save money on your dog. I use these methods all the time and save so much money every month!

Santa Paws Visited Our Dogs!

This year for Christmas, our dogs got a TON of toys, treats, and other awesome items! Our dogs worked extremely hard in their training and agility this year, so I felt they deserved a treat. Sadly, Callie wasn't so on board with unwrapping the gifts, but Toby went absolutely nuts for it. Now, for the good part.

What my dogs got for Christmas 2016:

The first thing my dogs got were these adorable little dots squeaky toys. I have bought so many of these over the last year. They are a great buy!

My dogs also got two brand new beds! The current beds we had had lasted many years, but I thought it was time for a change.

Another thing a swooped up for my dogs were these Zuke's Mini Naturals Treats- my favorite brand. The dogs each got two packs each (which will be given out in moderation). Toby got a duck flavor and a chicken flavor, and Callie got a pork flavor and a salmon flavor. Yum!

My dogs also go a few more toys, some treats, and a new bandana, but I couldn't find the link to those items!

Merry Christmas from Callie and Toby!
